Desmos is a powerful website/app for graphing functions, plotting data, exploring transformations and engaging students with pre-made digital activities-all for FREE!

Task:

For this task, we will be learning to use the graphing calculator app.

Here are your Learning Goals for this activity.

  • I can plot a point in each quadrant
  • I can create a movable point by typing (a, b) and clicking 'all'
  • I can create a table of values whose y-values are double the x-values
  • I can zoom in, zoom out, and return to 'default zoom'
  • I can adjust the window to display only Quadrant 1
  • I can create a 'square grid' with the x-axis ranging fro -100 to +100 and a step size of 40
  • I can plot a slop-intercept form line with sliders
  • Challenge!
    • I can use restrictions to plot a line segment between the points (-3, 0) and (0, 4)
