We can't believe it is already May!
Students have been hard at work learning the last of the grade 5 math skills to take the Math MCAS. For the next week and a half, our focus is going to be on Science as we prepare for that MCAS which students will take on May 19th and 20th.
In Reading, we are working on the theme of Survival while we read Hatchet. Students so far, are very engaged and interested in the story.
In Writing we are working on our "fiction" unit, after which students will have a chance to share their stories. We hope to have time to turn the tables in writing and have the students become the teacher by researching and creating a presentation about something that they are passionate about.
We know that Moving On Ceremony is at the top of many people's minds. At this time, we know that the Ceremony will be on June, 14 at 10:00. Each student only be given 2 tickets, each will admit one adult. Younger siblings who are in the school will not be able to attend as the auditorium just isn't big enough.
We are hoping for a fun and enjoyable end of the school year filled with many activities that students will enjoy. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via class dojo.
