End of Year Updates

Middle School Placement

• All GES fifth graders will be attending the Garfield Middle School

  • Garfield Middle School (GMS) is in the same building as the elementary school! It is a separate school because the middle school has its own administration, office, and start/end times.

• The Middle School tours and lottery will not be happening again.

Moving On Ceremony

The moving on ceremony will be on:

Tuesday, June 23

begins promptly at 9:15

(arrive early to check in)

For families:

• Please arrive early because you will need to show an ID and have a ticket (tickets are required because  of the seating capacity in the auditorium)

• Each student will receive 2 tickets (total) for family or friends to attend

• If you will not use both tickets please return them.

For students, what to wear:

• Dress to impress!

• Make sure your clothing choices are school appropriate, if you have a specific question, ask!

• Avoid wearing heeled shoes (we want everyone safe as they go up and down stairs and across the stage).

Activities for Fifth Graders

• The Spring Concert will be on May 29 at 9:00, arrive early to check-in

• Boston Field Trip on May 22, rain date of June 1

• Beach Field Trip  on June 12, rain date of June 15

  • Students will NOT be swimming - do not send students in swimsuits

• Grade 5 Glow Party at the Revere Lodge of Elks,  198 Shirley Ave on June 15 5:00-7:00PM (more info to come) 

• Field Day will be Friday, June 18

• Moving On Ceremony June 23 (more info on  this page)

• June 24 = Last day of school
