Ensemble - a group of musicians, actors, or dancers who perform together!
Lincoln Roosevelt School has three music ensembles:
ORCHESTRA
(only strings)
BAND
(all other instruments = woodwinds, brass, percussion)
CHORUS
(vocalists)
Students receive one 36-minute instrumental lesson each week. These lessons are conducted in small groups, typically consisting of 4 to 8 students who play the same instrument. Keeping the groups small allows for more effective teaching and learning. The lessons follow a rotating schedule to accommodate all students.
In addition to their small-group lessons, students also meet as a larger ensemble during their LAP period each week at the same time.
Each section is also color coded for easy finding.
Students may join CHORUS as well as an ONE Instrumental Ensemble: Band or Orchestra, but not both.
