Career and College Promise
The Career and College Promise program offers High School students the opportunity to take PCC classes - TUITION FREE!
There are two options: College Transfer Pathway (CTP) and Career Technical Education Pathway (CTE), benefiting students interested in transferring to a Four-Year University or joining the workforce.
College Transfer Pathway (CTP)
Program Eligibility Requirements Include:
Be a high school Junior or Senior;
Have an unweighted GPA of 2.8 on high school courses; OR
Demonstrate college readiness in English, reading, and mathematics on an assessment or placement test or meet provisional status. (For provisional requirements or any other questions please email the CCP representative listed below).
A student can choose to take classes within the Associate in Arts Pathway, Associate in Science Pathway OR the Associates in General Education Nursing Pathway. If a student receives a ‘C’ grade or higher in the classes within this pathway he/she will transfer to any of the 16 North Carolina Public Universities. If a student wants to transfer to a Four-Year University or continue onto a community college this may be a great choice. A student can only be in One Transfer Pathway.
Eligibility for Continued Enrollment - To maintain eligibility for continued enrollment, a student must:
Continue to make progress toward high school graduation, and
Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college coursework after completing two courses.
A student who falls below a 2.0 GPA after completing two college courses will be subject to the college’s policy for satisfactory academic progress, which may include but is not limited to a student participation contract.
Career Technical Education Pathways (CTE)
Program Eligibility Requirements Include:

A student may choose one or two CTE pathways. The Career Technical Education Pathways go towards a Certificate that can lead to a Diploma and Associate in Applied Science. Courses within this Pathway can be towards entry-level job credentials as well. For example: if a student wants to go straight into the workforce and get hands-on experience, one of the CTE pathways is a great choice. Business Administration, Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood, Information Technology, and Welding are some CTE options!
