FAQs: 2023 (to be updated 2024)

What does my child need to bring to school with them?

Please look at the uniform page for details of school uniform, PE kits and outdoor learning gear. We are an all weather school, so it is really important that your child has a waterproof coat and welly boots. Each child has their own locker to store their possessions in. We ask that your child does not bring a pencil case or personal belongings to school. We will provide them with all the equipment they will need.

At the infant school my children received a free snack, will this continue?

Free snacks are not offered at Key Stage 2. We do how every encourage children to bring in a healthy, nut-free snack (under 100 calories) to eat during break time.

How do school dinners work? How do I pay for them?

Children have the choice between a school dinner or bringing their own packed lunch. Universal free school meals do not apply at Key Stage 2 so you need to pay for them unless you are eligible for free school meals. Lunches cost £2.80 - you can pay in cash on online (we will send you details of this in September. If you think you are eligible for free school meals and are yet to register please click the link for the form.

Do you offer wrap around care?

We offer breakfast club and after school child care - these are paid services. Breakfast club runs from 7:30am. After school childcare club runs until 5pm on most days (you will need to book this service in advance). Please click here for more information

How do I speak to my class teacher

There is always a member of staff on the door in the morning who you can leave a message with for the class teacher - parents are not permitted to enter the building in the morning. If you require an appointment with your class teacher, this can be made through reception. You can contact reception on enquires@rowner.gfmat.org

How do I make payments to the school?

We encourage parents/carers to pay online. We use the Tucasi system.

How do I find out more about what is going on in school?

Lots of ways - Regular newsletter, our school website, our Facebook page and our community Facebook page - if you would like to join, please fill in this form and we will be able to add you in time for September.
