Ethical Travel and the Photography Test
Buy from locals, tip, and spend your money!
Check your judgments; instead, embrace wondering and curiosity. Why would someone...? Why is it like...? How did it come to be this way? Why do I see this differently?
Would you take this photo at home?

Safety:
Walk in pairs
Take a taxi at night
Carry your bag close to you and on your side.
Don't walk around with your phone out.
Other Things:
You can't drink the tap water, ever. But please drink a lot of water and fill up your water bottle daily from the garrafon in your apartment.
Don't throw toilet paper in the toilet. It goes in the trashcan next to the toilet.
Please let Teresa know immediately if you run out of agua de tinaco or agua de garrafon in your apartment. There is a dire water shortage in Oaxaca. Please be careful with the water.
Enjoy Oaxaca food, but be judicious about street eating. Look for clean places where other Oaxaqueños are eating.
