Dr. Daniel Berger is the Medical Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Capital Health Medical Center in New Jersey. He started this new position in December of 2019. He received his osteopathic medical school degree from UMDNJ-SOM and completed his residency at the University of Florida OB/GYN Residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. He has been in clinical practice for over twenty years.
As a practicing OB/GYN, Dr. Berger has a particular interest in the multidisciplinary management of high-risk pregnancies and critical care obstetrics. With this, he has prior experience as Chairman of OB/GYN at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center where he also established and managed their OB/GYN Hospitalist division. With a vested interest in providing care to the underserved women in his southern New Jersey community, he has personally delivered around 6000 women and routinely assists the other members of his department. He has spent the last twenty years teaching OB/GYN to medical students, residents, physician assistant students that have come primarily from Rowan University-School of Osteopathic Medicine.
In doing so, he has received numerous teaching awards including three Golden Apple Teaching Awards from the medical students and four Intern teacher of the year awards. He has received commendations in his hospital system for his high risk clinical management of his Obstetrical patients and has been the recipient of the March of Dimes Born to Shine Award of Excellence. However, before being a physician, it is his wife and two boys that he holds most dear.
