Rosa Baza

Hello Herrington Hawks!  My name is Rosa Baza and I am excited to be teaching Spanish at Herrington.   I have been teaching for 19 years in elementary.  I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development.  I am a certified Bilingual/ESL/Spanish teacher in the state of Texas.  I'm a proud mother of 2 wonderful kids. I enjoy cooking, traveling, and going to concerts. I look forward to an amazing year full of learning and fun!  Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have.  

Mirna Dumareille 

Hola Herrington Families!

My name is Mirna A. Dumareille, and I am delighted to be teaching Spanish at  Herrington. This is my tenth year as an elementary teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies. My certifications include Generalist EC-6, Bilingual-Spanish and LOTE-Spanish (EC-12th) .  My husband and I have four kids, a beautiful granddaughter, two dogs, a bird and a cat.  I enjoy watching Band competitions, movies, reading, zumba and spoiling my pets.

As a teacher, I want to inspire lifelong learners by showing my students a bigger world through experiencing cultures and peoples with language and communication. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of exploring the Spanish language and culture with my students. It is going to be an amazing year. Go Hawks! 

Nubia Radic

Hi, my name is Nubia Radic. I have been an educator for 14 years. The last 2 years have been here with the awesome Spanish team at Herrington Elementary. I am a proud graduate from The University of Texas, where I received my bachelor's in Applied Learning and Development.  Hook'em Horns! When I'm not in school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 4 wonderful kids, cooking, and watching documentaries. Every year is a new adventure, and I'm looking forward to working with our students and developing their love for language learning.

Sharon Figueroa

My name is Sharon Figueroa and I'm the Herrington Spanish Language and Culture Academy Program Coordinator. I also support our Emergent Bilingual students as our campus LPAC chair. I learned Spanish as a second language while living and studying in Mexico, and I believe that language learning is incredibly beneficial for our students. I have been an educator for 20 years teaching 2nd grade, 4th grade dual language, math and reading intervention, as well as English and Spanish language classes in Mexico, California and Texas. I have a bachelor's degree in literature from UC Santa Cruz, a master's degree in elementary education from University of Phoenix, and a principal as instructional leader certificate from Lamar University.  I love reading, swimming, hiking, cooking, and spending time with my family and pups!

Laura Gonzalez


¡Hola amigos! My name is Laura González and I will be one of the four Spanish teachers here at Herrington.  I am certified in teaching Spanish to grades K-12 and K-4 bilingual education. This year will be my 22nd year teaching in the elementary grades.  I am a native Spanish speaker with 10 years of Spanish teaching experience.  Teaching Spanish is my passion! It is amazing seeing how our students’ Spanish language develops over time!  I am so proud of our Herrington students!
