1st Grade - Costa Rica

Our first graders love learning Spanish vocabulary through songs. Check out this adorable performance: "Mi cuerpo hace música."

Our 1st graders got to color Calaveras in celebration of Dia de los Muertos as they also practiced naming colors and parts of the body in Spanish! See pics below.

For their holiday celebration project first graders learned about the tradition of ox cart parades in Costa Rica. The ox cart is a national symbol of Costa Rica. Historically they were a family's only means of transportation and also used to transport coffee beans. During the holidays a parade is held with a contest for the best decorated ox cart. Our first graders had so much fun decorating their own ox carts as they learned more about Costa Rica, their country of study! See pictures below!
