Physical Education

Here at Hopewell physical education is just as important as the school work. A robust physical education can influence moral development, increase socialization and teamwork, enhance one's ability to think, concentrate, and focus, relieve stress and anxiety, and promote healthy growth and development.

6th Grade Physical Education

For 6th Graders Wellness and Pre-Athletics is offered. In both classes students will develop fitness knowledge and motor skills basic to efficient movement that promote healthy lifestyle choices and improve the quality of student’s lives; however, pre-athletics has an emphasis on sports.

All 6th graders are automatically registered for either Wellness PE or Pre-Athletics. Note: Pre-Athletics is NOT a pre-requisite to be in 7th or 8th grade athletics and does not give a student a nod over their peers when it comes to making a sports team. An athletic physical is NOT required for 6th graders.

6th Grade PE Coaches: TBD

7th Grade Physical Education

7th Graders will be exposed to team and individual sports, outdoor activities, and fun invasion games to develop their overall fitness knowledge and basic motor skills to efficient movement. Please note that a student enrolled in PE can still tryout for all the sports; however, a physical and the RankOne form online must be filled out. You can find both of these resources on the athletic homepage.

7th Grade PE Coaches: TBD

What's Required for ALL PE Courses?

Note: Dressing out and being prepared for physical activity is a requirement. If a student is not prepared, it will affect their grade. If a student does not have proper apparel, they will have to sit out due to safety.

Apparel purchases for all courses can be made once the online store is up and running. We will stay in contact and update you when it is ready.

DO NOT make the mistake and purchase athletics apparel for physical education .
