Tryouts concluded August 31st.
The cross country season will begin the week of September 5th for athletes who earn a spot on the team.
Tryouts take place August 28th through August 31st from 3:45 to 5:15 (all days of tryouts must be attended) .
To be eligible to tryout for the team, an athlete must have a current physical and all required RANKONE forms on file with the Hopewell Athletic's Department (DUE NO LATER THAN AUGUST 11TH ) AND complete the following CROSS COUNTRY TRYOUT FORM no later than 11:59 p.m. on August 25th (the form will no longer be available past this date and time):

PLEASE NOTE that cross country is considered a club sport at the middle school level where athletes (who are current 7th or 8th graders at Hopewell) compete at neighboring Round Rock campuses in the 2-mile run on various terrains. All practices will take place AFTER school Monday through Thursday from 3:45-4:45 (tryouts go through 5:15 for the week of 8/28 and then practices go until 4:45 once tryouts have concluded for athletes who make the team). Meets also take place after school. Athletes must make the team and commit to participating in the meets in order to be allowed to practice with the team. Because this is a club sport, STUDENTS/PARENTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM MEETS. Meets in past years have taken place at Stony Point High School and Walsh Middle School but this is subject to change. This season’s meet tentative dates and locations are as follows:

Saturday 09/23/23 @ McNeil Invitational Old Settlers Park (only athletes who meet a set qualifying time will compete in this meet)

Athletes must have transportation to and from meets (all meets are tentatively scheduled to take place at Stony Point HS this year)
