This is my 9th year as an educator. I am from Cameron, Texas originally, but moved to Chicago, Illinois where I graduated from Northern Illinois University. I also met my husband, Patrick, while in Chicago. We have two beautiful children. Luke is at Stony Point High school this year, and Layla is at Hopewell Middle School too. We moved back to Texas in 2018. As a family, we love traveling, sports, and being together playing games and hanging out. This year I also am going to be coaching volleyball, basketball, track, and cheer. Go Hornets!

I've had the wonderful privilege to serve as a coach at Hopewell for 12 years. One of my favorite quotes on the importance of sports for our youth comes from Xavier University;
"It can teach some of the most fundamental and important human values: dedication, perseverance, hard work, and teamwork. It also teaches us how to handle our success and cope with our failure. So, perhaps the greatest glory of sport is that it teaches us so much about life itself."

In my free time, I love to travel, read, run, and create/build.

Hi, I'm Coach Lawson, and I'm excited to begin my first year here at Hopewell Middle School! I'm originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and sports have been a big part of my life, with football being one of my main focuses. I have a strong passion for making a positive impact and serving as a role model for the younger generation, which is why I'm so thrilled to be part of the Hopewell community.
