I am excited to be returning to Westwood this year in my 20th year as a Physics teacher and my 14th year as a Warrior. I hold an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and Bachelors degrees in Physics and Spanish from Austin College (Go 'Roos!). After graduate school, I worked for a Traffic Engineering consulting firm in Dallas and earned my P.E. license before eventually finding my way back to my first love - Physics. I started teaching physics in 2006 and have never looked back!
In the summers I work as an AP Reader, grading a portion of the approximately 275,000 AP Physics tests given each year. I also serve as a representative from Westwood on the district level AP Council.
When I'm not solving kinematics or launching projectiles across the room, I enjoy spending time with my husband at our kids' various and sundry weekend sporting events, being outdoors, swimming, reading, running, and staying involved in our community.
I currently teach AP Physics I and AP Physics C, and am looking forward to a challenging, eye-opening, and rewarding year! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the course or if you need additional information throughout the year.
...oh, and "Long live gazelles!"
