Mr. Arterburn is a native Texan, born in Lubbock, having spent most of his formative years in Waco and at Baylor University, and now a happy Austinite. He studied Choral Music Education and German at Baylor while singing in top choirs and pursuing his love for musical and visual arts, as well as outdoor sports.
Now he can be found performing with local choirs, trail running, rock climbing, and indulging his nerdy side with comic books and other media.
What excites him most as a teacher is helping students enrich their minds and souls with music and the arts.
Students in the Deerpark Choir Program have a unique opportunity to work with a highly qualified private lesson instructor for a fraction of the cost they might pay for outside lessons. Lesson times are available on a weekly or bi-weekly basis during your choir class, or before/after school. Scheduling of lessons and payments will be handled directly by the voice instructor. In order to enroll a student in voice lessons, parents will need to print and sign the IMIP form below and return to your director along with the first month's payment. ($72.00) The RRISD School District sets lesson rates based on the experience of our private instructors which you can find listed on the application below, to be paid directly to the contracted instructor. Once the form is turned in, your voice instructor will contact you to schedule your regular lesson time.
