Welcome to Ms. Barrera’s class! This is my second year at Cactus Ranch, but I have been working in schools since 2014. I attended Texas A&M University for my Bachelor’s in Education and I am a proud member of the class of 2022!

I am a born-and-raised Texan. I grew up in Corpus Christi before moving to Round Rock, and I graduated from Round Rock High School. I love spending my time with my family, but that can sometimes be difficult because my sister lives in Boston and my brother just moved to Seattle! Fortunately, my parents are still local, as my mother is a Biomedical Science teacher at RRHS and my father is retired from RRISD.

This year, I am partnered with the amazing Mrs. Fairman. She teaches math and science, and I teach Language Arts and Social Studies.

When is your birthday? December 2nd

What are your favorite colors? Dark green, any shades of blue or purple 

What house are you in? Conatus

Where do you like to eat?  Whataburger, La Margarita, Jack Allen's 

What are your favorite sweet treats? I love anything with chocolate!

What are your favorite pastimes? Reading, writing, baking, watching movies, playing board games, and traveling/exploring

What is your favorite bookstore? Half Price Books, Barnes and Noble

Favorite warm drink? It's hard to pick a favorite, but I love Blackrock Coffee!

Favorite cold drink? Dr. Pepper Zero

Favorite place to visit? Book stores, coffee shops, local parks and hiking spots, the Round Rock Public Library-- anywhere I can walk and look around for a few hours!
