Hours: School begins each day at 7:35 am. Students can begin to arrive at 7:15 am every morning. We know that the mornings can get very busy at times. Please make sure to try your best to get your child to school on time so that they can get settled in for the day and do their daily morning routine with the rest of the class.

In light of recent events at schools across the country, RRISD is implementing some changes to improve security on campuses. At Cactus Ranch we will be making some changes to our morning routine. The first day of school, parents may walk their students to class to get them acclimated to their new classroom. Starting on Wednesday, August 13th, we will be asking adults to check into the front office at all times before entering the building. This will include morning arrival. If parents or family would like to escort their students into the building, they will need to come through the front office and use the Raptor system. We hope this will ensure that we can track all adults and visitors who enter our building at all times. Your child’s safety is the most important thing.

Dismissal: School ends each day at 2:55 pm. We like to make sure we know exactly how they are coming to, and going from, school. Please make sure to fill out the yellow student information card and Google dismissal form if you have not already done so at “Back to School Howdy”. If your child’s dismissal changes for any reason, please email the teacher AND call the office at 424-8000. The office will make sure the teacher knows about the change even if the teacher is unable to check their email.

Upon return to school, the student should bring a note of explanation if necessary.
