Ahoy mateys, and happy REEFSCAPE! Some of our students attended our local kickoff event at Georgia Tech, hosted by the GATECH Robojackets. They had an amazing time attending different workshops and watching the livestream with other teams. They returned to the robotics room with fresh ideas and got to work strategizing different capabilities and mechanisms. The Technical Departments have been busy with CADing and prototyping the robot, as well as building field elements. The Business Departments have begun designing the season t-shirt and pins! Good luck this season teams!
More progress on design, and our drive base is really coming together! Just waiting on those motors...
Though we've had some "snow" days, we're back to working! The drive base is comeplete and has been handed over to programming. The design team is finishing up with prototyping and CADing mechanisms. A shiny new robot is on the horizon!
The team has been very busy getting started building Mechanism #1. Programming is troubleshooting the drivetrain, which was finished and handed over at the beginning of the work week. The business department has begun to fabricate and put together aspects of our new robot cart!
The mechanical and fabrication subteams are hard at work bringing to life different mechanisms for the robot. Though we cannot disclose exactly what they are, let's just say they're definitely lifting us up and grabbing our attention.
The technical departments are hard at work bringing to robot to life! We are making great progress in construction and programming. The latter is working hard on planning autonomous routes whilst the robot is still undergoing work.
COMING SOON
At our first qualifier event, we came home with two awards: Team Spirit and Event Finalist. We had an amazing alliance with teams 1833 (Team BEAN) and 1683 (Techno Titans) and came in second place. The team had a great time at the event, cheering and dancing. We look forward to our next event in Gwinnett!
The week between competitions! We are working with our limited time to perform maitenence and tweak the code so it is the best it can be.
We had a great time at the Gwinnett Qualifier Event. We were the second pick of Alliance 8 consisting of teams 4509 (Mechanical Bulls) and 9522 (Archimedes). We descended to the lower bracket and got through a few matches but were ultimately eliminated. We had a great time at the competition, and are beginning to work on improving the robot for the future.
With our current ranking, the team is unsure of if we are going to DCMP. Regardless, we're treating the next few weeks like we are going to the competition! The Technical Departments are working hard improving the bot and testing possible new mechanisms.
This week, we are visiting the local DE field to improve the robot and test our drive team! The Business Departments are also busy setting up fundraisers to earn money for upcoming events and the next season.
