January 7th was kick-off day! Our O.S.C.A.R. family met up at the Roswell High School engineering lab. We enjoyed pizza, cookies, and lots of snacks while anxiously awaiting the new game on the Georgia Tech livestream. Once the game was announced, our team members immediately began brainstorming our game plan and robot design. Throughout the next week, we built part of the grid in our classroom and strategized the game plan.
During Week 2, our team continued to design and plan our robot. We had many design meetings with mentors and students. Additionally, the programming team worked very hard this week coding the new vision system and testing code with our 2022 robot, Mantis.
This week, we finished constructing the grid for our robot and drivers to practice on. Our drivers began testing the new grid's mechanisms with Mantis. Our programming, electrical, and design team continued to work hard as our robot design was being determined, and we ordered parts to prepare building our new robot!
Lots of progress was made this week! We finalized a robot design and began prototyping the robot. The programming team also improved and expanded the code.
Progress, progress, and more progress! The programming team got to work on the robot's vision. The mechanical team continued their hard work in prototyping the bot, while the electrical team began wiring. The drive team got some high-speed practice in.
This week saw a lot of good work! Mechanical finished the drive frame and continued work on completing the prototype phase of the grabbing mechanism. Programming kept up the difficult work of making sure the bot can see the field and working with kinematics and odometry.
