The PLC has a list of all the topics you will study in Year 10 and 11. You can find them at the links below
You should have a copy in your Exercise book. If you do not, get a copy from your teacher!
To make use of your PLC effectively, RAG each module after you have studied them in class. Revise any topics that are amber or red by using SparxMaths or CorbettMaths. If you are still struggling, then go to the Tuesday After School Support Session to get help from a teacher.
Checklist for Sparx can be found below. The Crossover checklist overlaps both Higher and Foundation papers, targeting Grade 4-5.
Practice Papers can be found by following the links below.
Mark schemes can be found in those folders. To successfully use these papers, follow the steps below.
Attempt the questions under exam conditions. If the paper has a time limit on the front page, try to stick to that time limit. If the paper is a non-calculator paper, do not use a calculator!
Mark the question using the mark scheme.
Any questions you get wrong, use Sparx Maths to revise the topic. You can search topics on HegartyMaths. If you are unsure of the topic of any question, email your Maths teacher and ask.
Any questions you still do not understand, speak to your teacher.
Remember, that these practice papers are full papers. It will contain topics you have not studied yet. You may leave those topics but you can of course use HegartyMaths to learn independently!
A set of 6 packs covering the crossover section of the papers can be found at the link below.
This will be useful for those aiming to secure a Grade 4 or 5 on the Foundation Paper and to secure the core knowledge on the Higher Paper.
Answers are attached and Sparx code for extra support.
A pack of lots of questions covering over 100 topics but with just one question. Can be useful as a quick check on what you can do! The question packs can be found at the links below.
Video answers to these packs can be found by using the QR code on the cover page.
Some useful practice materials on questions that come up often can be found at the link below.
Here you can find the revision booklets as well as the slides used during form time intervention. For those of you who are in a Maths form intervention group, you should already have the booklets, and for those who are not they will be available from your class teacher soon!
The booklets are designed for you to make notes on specific topics before trying some questions. If you were absent or have some gaps in your booklets, you can use the slides here to complete it before attempting the additional questions. Do note that examples are demonstrated in class and are not currently in the slides. These will be added, and an update note below this post will let you know when they are available.
If you are not in a Maths intervention form, your teacher will provide you with the booklets used in class over time. The best way to work with it is
make notes in your booklet using the slides for a topic
copy the example into your booklet (once they have been added to the slides)
attempt the practice question and then check your answer on the slides (this may be missing too but will be added later)
attempt the worksheet within the booklets and check your work with the provided answers
And repeat the above with the next topic! You may choose complete step 4 at a later date to check that you still know how to do it.
