Year 11
If you have any questions, please contact your class teacher or you may email
Please note that you will need to be logged in with your school email account to access any resource on Google Drive.
The PLC has a list of all the topics you will study in Year 10 and 11. You can find them at the links below
You should have a copy in your Exercise book. If you do not, get a copy from your teacher!
To make use of your PLC effectively, RAG each module after you have studied them in class. Revise any topics that are amber or red by using SparxMaths, HegartyMaths or CorbettMaths. If you are still struggling, then go to the Tuesday After School Support Session to get help from a teacher.
Checklist for Sparx can be found below. The "Crossover" checklist overlaps both Higher and Foundation papers, targeting Grade 4-5.
Make sure to complete the weekly homework tasks. You will receive a selection of topics recently studied in class and a consolidation task with topics you have studied in the past. You should be able to complete each task in about an hour but some weeks you may need a little more time and at other weeks you be completing the work quicker..
In addition to the main weekly task, you also have two optional tasks about 30 minutes long each week.
XP Boost: this reviews topics you struggled with in the past
Target: this will give you some additional more challenging questions to push yourself.
Remember, the best revision is regular practice and completing your weekly Sparx tasks is the best way to practice regularly!
Every Tuesday from 3 to 4 pm, Maths teachers will be available to support with your work. This could be
to get help with homework.
to catch up on missed work.
to get more support on topics you have covered in class.
to work independently on Sparx Maths. Laptops will be provided!
The two websites linked below have a comprehensive set of videos that cover the full range of the Edexcel curriculum.
These may be useful as catch-up when absent, to close gaps and for revision.
For those of you who are studying the AQA Level 2 Further Maths, you may use the link below to find a full set of videos.
Below is a selection of available revision books and cards with links to Amazon. We do not recommend any particular books as individual preferences may differ. The list below is not exhaustive and any revision books for the Edexcel GCSE Maths specification would be suitable.
