Q: What is the length of the UPK school year?
A: The UPK program will follow the K-12 Rocky Point Union Free School District calendar.
Q: What schools will be providing UPK services for the 2024-2025 school year?
A: The District has entered into agreements with three UPK providers for the 2024-2025 school year:
Trinity Nursery School, Rocky Point: Half-Day AM and Half-Day PM UPK Programs
Step-by-Step Montessori School, Miller Place: Full Day UPK Program
Little Rascals Learning Center, Miller Place: Full Day UPK Program
Q: What are the hours of the PreK programs?
A. Trinity Nursery School: Half-Day AM- 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Half-Day PM- 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Step-by-Step Montessori School: 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Little Rascals Learning Center: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Q: How will my child be selected for the UPK program?
A: Students will be placed into the UPK schools/classes via a lottery system. The lottery is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The full day lottery is via Zoom at 9:00 AM; the half-day lottery is via Zoom at 11:00 AM. The District will make every attempt to accommodate a parent/guardian's first choice of school or session, space permitted. All placement will be final as of August 15, 2024.
Q: What is the registration process for the UPK program?
A: All parents/guardians of incoming UPK students will need to complete a registration packet (please see below). Please complete all forms and collect all necessary paperwork, then contact Jennifer Agresto to schedule an appointment. All appointments must occur before August 1, 2024.

Q: Is transportation provided by the District?
A: No. Parents/guardians are responsible for dropping off and picking up students.

Up-to-date Immunization Record (if available) / Immunization Registration Information Form
Prepared by a physician or other authorized person who administers the immunizing agents which show that the child has received the required immunizations as per the NYS Immunizations Requirements for School Entrance/Attendance. Immunization Information.
5. Required NYS School Health Examination Form (exam must have been conducted no more than 12 months before the first day of school)
LEAD LEVEL testing information MUST be completed on this form. Mandatory for UPK registration.
