Frequently Asked Questions

How do I login to my chromebook?

PreK-2nd grade students should have received a QR to login to their chromebooks. If not, please email gentech@rockboro.org so that we can get you a new one! Returning students will use the same login credentials as last year. For new students, logins typically follow the first initial of your child’s first name, followed by their last name and ‘@rockboro.org’. (Ex. mdachisen@rockboro.org). Passwords, again for returning students, they are the same as last year. For new students, it is the last 4 digits of your student’s Local ID, two times. This can be found on the OnCourse connect page. (Ex. 12341234)

Once on their chromebook, students should check their messages on Clever account to access their Google Classroom Codes. From there, they should join each Google Classroom using these directions:

Where do I find my child’s daily assignments?

When your child is at home, either because he/she is all remote or their cohort is home, all of their assignments and links to Google Meets will be found on your child's Google Classrooms. ALL teachers will have their own Google Classroom in which they will be listing their assignments, resouces, and links to meetings.

How does my child submit attendance each day?

Lincoln Students (All Virtual):

When they attend their homeroom each day via their provided link, their teachers will record their attendance. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT ATTENDANCE, AS IT WILL BE DONE BY THE TEACHERS.

TJ Students :

Virtual and At-Home Cohorts- Students will need to record their attendance each day from home. Each day, your child will go to this site (Distance Learning Site) on the Rockaway Borough homepage and access the "Attendance Tab." Once there, they will click on the daily attendace tab and complete the Google Form. All students will need to complete this form each day by 8:30 am.

In-School Cohorts- Attendance will be taken at school and DOES NOT need to be submitted from home.

When is my child’s teacher available to answer questions about a particular assignment, etc.?

All teaching staff will have virtual “office hours." In case your child’s particular teacher is unavailable for some reason, the grade level team will be available to assist you. During these times, teachers will be available to answer any questions about assignments as well as to provide appropriate feedback.

If my child is experiencing technological difficulties who should they contact?

Please feel free to email our tech support at gentech@rockboro.org or sselikoff@rockboro.org, as our staff will do their best to assist you. Remember some computer issues may be beyond the scope of school servers since you are working from your home or another remote place.

If my child receives a related service in their IEP, how is that being addressed?

Our regional Child Study Team has worked with the staff in preparing differentiated lessons and materials to meet the needs of all students, especially those with IEPs. If you have specific questions related to your child’s IEP, please contact your child’s case manager.
