South End Elementary School 25-26
The Battle of the Books Team is a team of students who compete against other elementary students in a quiz-bowl style game on questions about a list of 16 books selected for all of North Carolina. It’s a great chance to practice reading skills and teamwork! For a detailed description of EBOB (Elementary Battle of the Books), please visit https://ncslma.wildapricot.org/EBOB.
To be one of the 12 competing EBOB team members, students are required to read a minimum of 12 of the 16 books on the official list, complete work on MyBoBTeam for books by the due dates below, memorize the titles and authors, have no behavior issues in school and attend 75% of school practices.
Students in the AIG program with Mrs. Woods in the 4th Grade & 5th Grade will read The Great Treehouse War together in class. The book is an advanced read that covers a wide variety of topics, and we look forward to great discussions about it during practice.
Students may check out books from the school library to start reading now or may check out the books from the local libraries. It is not necessary to purchase any of the books in order for your child to participate.
