Graduation Regalia Email

Class of 2024 and Families,


Congratulations!  We are looking forward to celebrating the culmination of your high school career on May 31st.


With graduation 2 weeks away, we are reminding everyone of the dress code for the graduation ceremony.


All students are required to wear their approved cap, gown and tassel that was purchased through Jostens. Caps must remain undecorated. Clothing worn underneath must adhere to our Dress Code Policy.


Many students will also be wearing regalia awarded to them by various honors societies and co-curricular activities.  These items include cords, medals, pins and various stoles to recognize their accomplishments and involvement while attending West Park High School. These items will be presented to students through the club or organization, or at the Senior Awards Night on May 21st.

  

Shoes
Stilettos and pointed heels are NOT permitted on the field as it will damage the turf. Wedges and block heels are permitted, but please be aware that graduates will be crossing elevated ramps and stages, shoes must be comfortable for walking in your shoe choice. In most cases your shoes will be visible for photo opportunities, and we want you to look your best for this once in a lifetime occasion.  

Accessories
Sunglasses when seated are permitted but not on the way to your seat or on the platform while receiving a diploma.

Purses/Handbags
Student graduates may not bring purses or backpacks. Graduates will not have a secured location to store it. Please leave your personal items with your loved ones or at home. 

Leis
Graduates may wear cultural or religious attire (such as the Kukui Nut lei worn in the Polynesian culture).

Medals & Awards
Graduates who earned a medal, cord,  or stole received at the Senior Awards Night are encouraged to wear it over their gowns during the ceremony.

Etc.
No noisemakers, beach balls, or individual outbursts.
