UHMS Family Engagement Center

UHMS has our very own Family Engagement Center on campus.

Located in Room 410, the FEC is open three days each week to parents needing support with technology, access to computers, or any other assistance we might be able to provide.

The FEC has computers and printers for parent use and is staffed by our Bilingual Community Assistant Mrs. Mary Ann Gonzalez. Mrs. Gonzalez can assist families with accessing district and community resources, securing various local services, and access to our campus pantry and clothing closet.

Monday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Wednesday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Parent Involvement Information

We welcome and encourage parents to be involved in your student's education. We offer a variety of opportunities for parents to participate in campus activities and decisions. We truly believe that we can only be successful as a school if the staff, students, and parents are all working toward the same goals.

If you have an idea for a new parent organization or training you would like to see implemented, please contact our Family and Community Engagement Coordinator at

UHMS has been part of the School2Home program for 8 years. The program is committed to closing the digital divide and providing technology for students and families in Title 1 schools.

As part of the program, we hold annual parent training sessions that all incoming 7th grade families must attend. This year, sessions will be offered in person, live online, and asynchronously online.

Additional information will be provided once school starts regarding dates and times of trainings.

Parents will receive credit for any event they participate in this year. For every 4 events you attend as a parent, your student will receive an entry into a drawing for various prizes at the end of the year.
