Welcome to University Heights Middle School!
My name is Katie Grimble and I am excited to be starting my 7th year as principal of UHMS in August 2024. At UHMS, we are proud of the work we do each day to ensure that our students get the most out of their time in middle school. We have an extensive positive behavior program that utilizes weekly social-emotional lessons, clubs, incentives, and other activities to help students build connections to the school and their peers.
In 2021-2022, UHMS was recognized as a California School to Watch and National School to Watch for our work around student engagement, social-emotional support, and academics. Our staff is thrilled about this recognition and we appreciate the students, parents, and community members who support this work and make it possible for us to provide so many opportunities for our students.
We value the input of students and families on campus and want your voice included when we make important decisions. Please consider getting involved on campus through volunteering or joining one of our many parent groups. Throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything that I can do to support you or your student to be successful here at UHMS.
Thank you!
Katie Grimble
