University Heights Middle School is a 7th and 8th grade middle school in Riverside Unified School District with approximately 850 students. UHMS was originally located on University Avenue at the current Cesar Chavez Community Center, but has been at its current location since 1972.
University is set up in cross curricular teams to aide with the transition from elementary to middle school and to provide consistency and support for students throughout their two years with us. Additionally, University has a variety of electives, clubs, and activities for students to get involved in both during and outside of the regular school day.
We at University pride ourselves at the extraordinary opportunities we provide to both students and families through our site coordinated events, Family Engagement Center, student wellness center, and our partnerships with local businesses and universities.
