VIDEO HIGHLIGHT

Soapbox Riverside

Special thanks to Benji Edgar, the Martin Luther King High School Good Day MLK Team and teacher Jamal Gerren for producing this segment!

Hit play and fast forward to 2:22 to hear student Veronica DeRuyter speak at  Soapbox Riverside.

Project Soapbox calls on young people to develop and deliver an original 2-3 minute speech on an issue that matters to them.

These powerful speeches have a lasting, transformative impact on classrooms, schools and communities.

At Soapbox Riverside, students delivered speeches that address the question: "What is the biggest issue facing your community, and what should be done about it?
