To log-in to Google Classroom, please use your Riverside Student ID (the first three letters of your last name + the first three letters of your first name + the last two digits of your graduation year).
Google Classroom is divided into four headings: Stream, Classwork, Peers, Grades.
The Stream will be utilized as a "message board-style" communication tool. When Mr. Trescavage has an announcement for the class, he will post it there. Students are encouraged to respond to the post with any questions they have. All students in the class can see those questions and the students can respond to each other. Inappropriate and non-educational content will not be tolerated. The newest posts will be at the top of the page, while the older posts will get pushed down. AT NO TIME WILL ASSIGNMENTS BE POSTED TO THE STREAM.
All student materials and corresponding assignments will be posted on the Classwork page. Please pay attention to Topic Headings. Posts under the topic headings will be organized from oldest first to newest last. Each post will contain a classroom material (article, reading assignment, presentation, video, virtual class, etc.). If there is an assessment component in the post (quiz, homework, etc.), there will be a clear point value, due date, and, when applicable, rubric embedded within the post. Students may also respond to the post with a question or comment. Inappropriate and non-educational content will not be tolerated.
The People option is for communicating with those in the class and Mr. Trescavage. Please check your school email often, especially if you send an email.
While Grades is an active page and will show the points earned on an assignment, Grades is not the tool to keep up-to-date with your academic progress in the class. Your actual grade can be found on VISION.
Per Administration, the following are acceptable for you Google icon: the Riverside Viking logo; a profile headshot with no logos or sayings (the only text could/should be your name); and, the generic one that posts automatically (silhouette/letter of your name). Any logos deemed unacceptable will be changed.
