Sophomore English Language Arts (or, ELA for short) is a class specifically geared toward improving students' technical writing skills and ability to analyze literature.
- Throughout the school year, students will focus on the quality of their writing, while infusing essays with a thesis statement, textual support, and clarity of their purpose.
- Analyzation of literature is a very important, yet challenging skill. Students will read literature that goes beyond the literal, into a realm where searching for symbolism and close examination of the author's purpose can radically change their perspective of a story.
