We would like all schools to attend in-person. If you cannot attend, please indicate so on the Intent to Participate Form. The venue for RSGF 2025 will be held at Ritsumeikan High School in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto. We kindly ask that you arrange flights to arrive on November 8th and depart on November 14th. Should your stay extend beyond these dates, please be aware that accommodation and travel arrangements will be your responsibility.
Student participants: Students in grades 10 to 12 (ages 15 to 18) or the equivalent in your country are eligible to participate.
If you have five or more participants, please ensure that at least one person is assigned to each topic. Try to distribute participants equally across all topics. If there are fewer than five participants, please ensure each person joins a different topic.
The event is free of charge, excluding personal expenses and transportation to Japan. Ritsumeikan will provide your accommodation, meals, and local transportation. However, participating schools are responsible for organizing and financing their own flights to and from Kansai International Airport. Your flight should arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in Japan. It would be difficult to pick you up very early in the morning or very late at night. Schools arriving at other airports across Japan will be required to pay the costs of traveling to Kyoto. Please ensure you have money for additional incidentals, such as food or drinks and other personal purchases during your stay.
On November 9, the first day of the RSGF, each school is required to present posters based on the five topics under the main theme. Participants must prepare posters before the forum begins. If your school has three participants, three posters should be prepared, each focusing on a different topic. Each school should have no more than five posters.

Ritsumeikan will arrange lodging for the RSGF attendees. While many students and teachers will be accommodated in a hotel, we also offer homestays. However, this homestay option is limited to schools that have established reciprocal homestay exchanges or official agreements with Ritsumeikan.
Although restrictions on entering Japan have been fully relaxed, there are still concerns regarding potential COVID-19 infections. While there are no special requirements for entering Japan or attending our events, please be advised that if a participant from your school tests positive for COVID-19, they may be required to quarantine. Ritsumeikan will provide all possible support, but the participating school will be responsible for covering any associated costs, including additional accommodation expenses. Please ensure you are aware of this before participating in the event.
Regarding accommodations, students will either stay in hotel rooms or participate in the homestay program. If placed in a hotel, students may share a room with peers of the same gender from their school.
