ATHLETICS FACILITIES
The RIS campus has undergone and will continue to undergo significant facility upgrades. For the benefit of our wider school-community, student-athletes, faculty, and staff, all visitors to the RIS campus should familiarize themselves with the following policies.
Opening Hours: 5:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Monday to Saturday (Sunday closed)
During School Hours: 7:10 a.m. - 2:40 p.m. (Priority for PE classes)
Afternoon Student Hours: 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. (Priority for students)
We encourage students and faculty to use our Fitness Center during the hours highlighted above. Kindly adhere to the above policy for the best use of this facility.
All Physical Education classes are for currently enrolled students. Therefore, they have priority use of the sports facilities. Current faculty, staff members, alumni, and guests cannot participate in Physical Education classes. Faculty, staff members, and alumni are welcome to use the Fitness Center according to the following guidelines:
All patrons are expected to wear appropriate attire. In some cases, specific athletic shoes are required. (Student school uniforms are not permitted.)
The Fitness Center requires scanner access. Only those who have processed their RIS ID cards can access the facility.
3:00 to 4:00 p.m. is a student-priority hour. Equipment may be shared with all patrons, but students & teams have priority.
All students, staff, faculty, and guests must follow all policies and procedures and consistently follow the school’s policies.
RIS can exclude individuals from campus spaces based on misconduct and/or failure to follow school policies and procedures.
The fitness room space has a maximum capacity of 30 occupants at any time.
The fitness center is for HS students. MS students may only access the fitness center with a coach as their direct supervisor.
Facility patrons must follow directions/instructions of the Fitness Room Supervisor.
Facility patrons must bring their own (personal) water bottle.
Weights must be re-racked after use.
All bags must be kept outside the Fitness Center.
As a patron of the RIS Fitness Center and Sports Facilities, anyone with a current RIS ID card is welcome and encouraged to use the various spaces on campus provided that they abide by the following hours and policies:
Phoenix Hall: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Godbout Hall: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Tennis Courts: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Squash Courts: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Prior approval by the athletics director is required.)
P.E. classes are the top priority for using the sports facilities at RIS.
A current RIS ID Card (for scanning) is required to enter the Fitness Center.
Anyone using the sports facilities or spaces violating this policy will be asked to leave.
Phoenix Pool: 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Monday to Friday
Kindly follow the policy below:
6:30 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.: Priority for PE classes
2:40 - 5:00 p.m.: For recreational swimming. (adults only permitted)
Faculty must follow safety policies and procedures, including lightning policy, at all times.
Saturday & Sunday, Phoenix Pool is closed. Entry for authorized personnel only..
Godbout Pool: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturdays
Kindly follow the policy below:
Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Faculty must follow safety policies and procedures, including lightning policy, at all times.
Monday to Friday, Godbout Pool is closed for general swimming. P.E. classes and authorized personnel only.
Phoenix sports teams have daily scheduled practices in designated areas.
Phoenix sports team practices are scheduled to end at 5:00 pm; no extensions are permitted unless the athletics director provides approval.
All sports facilities are closed on Sundays.
Students are welcome to use the facilities, subject to class and event scheduling.
Students may reserve the use of the facilities (such as the courts for basketball, volleyball, etc.) via the Athletic Department, subject to class and event scheduling during hours of operation.
Students must have faculty supervision when using facilities at all times.
Faculty and staff are welcome to use the facilities, subject to class and event scheduling.
Faculty and staff may reserve the use of the facilities (such as the courts for basketball, volleyball, etc.) subject to class and event scheduling during hours of operation. Contact the Athletic Department for details.
Immediate family members living with faculty or staff (spouse/partner and children) may use the Fitness Center and facilities accompanied by RIS faculty or staff.
Students must always be accompanied and supervised using the Fitness Center and facilities.
Family members of faculty and staff are considered guests and are therefore not eligible to bring additional guests.
Alumni are welcome to use the Fitness Center and sports facilities with prior reservations and approval from the RIS school manager and athletics director.
