DEFINITION OF TERMS
A leave benefit granted to Exempt employees who worked on a legal or special holiday or on rest days.
Exempt Employee – Any employee carrying a supervisory responsibility and above and who are deemed exempted or not entitled to overtime or rest day pays, legal or special holiday premiums, or night differential
CONDITION
Exempt employees who work on holidays or rest days shall be entitled to time off in lieu of overtime.
Employee must have worked at least four (4) hours to be eligible for a four (4) hour TOIL benefit which is also equivalent to half-day.
Unused credits shall be forfeited after 6 months from the time it is credited/earned.
Employee must file the overtime for the work rendered during holidays or rest days in the company’s timekeeping system within the cut off period to earn the TOIL leave.
TOIL leave is based on the number of hours rendered on holiday and/or rest day, not on the premium rate of holiday.
PROCESS
Exempt employee must apply OT via MyPay to earn TOIL
TOIL automatically activate upon approval of overtime.
