DEFINITION OF TERMS

A leave benefit granted to Exempt employees who worked on a legal or special holiday or on rest days.


Exempt Employee – Any employee carrying a supervisory responsibility and above and who are deemed exempted or not entitled to overtime or rest day pays, legal or special holiday premiums, or night differential

CONDITION

  • Exempt employees who work on holidays or rest days shall be entitled to time off in lieu of overtime.

  • Employee must have worked at least four (4) hours to be eligible for a four (4) hour TOIL benefit which is also equivalent to half-day.

  • Unused credits shall be forfeited after 6 months from the time it is credited/earned.

  • Employee must file the overtime for the work rendered during holidays or rest days in the company’s timekeeping system within the cut off period to earn the TOIL leave.

  • TOIL leave is based on the number of hours rendered on holiday and/or rest day, not on the premium rate of holiday.

PROCESS

Exempt employee must apply OT via MyPay to earn TOIL

TOIL automatically activate upon approval of overtime.
