RPS Summer Academies- Science Offerings
Biology-Remedial Credit
This course provides a focused environment for students to strengthen their foundational knowledge of the life sciences through targeted review and skill-building. Our curriculum revisits essential concepts—including DNA and heredity, human systems, and ecological balance—to ensure a clear grasp of how living organisms function and evolve. By bridging previous learning gaps in areas like microbiology and scientific inquiry, students will gain the confidence needed for future academic success. The session concludes with a final exam designed to measure progress and demonstrate mastery of these core biological principles.
Chemistry- Remedial Credit
This course is a study of the composition of substances and the changes they undergo. The course is designed to give the student an understanding of the fundamental principles of inorganic chemistry through the development of chemical laws and theories, giving the student a logical interpretation of chemical phenomena. Emphasis is placed upon the relationship of atomic structure and bonding to the physical and chemical properties of substances.
Environmental Science- Remedial Credit
This remedial environmental science course is designed to help students reinforce their understanding of the fundamental interactions between physical, life, and Earth sciences. The curriculum focuses on strengthening core concepts such as ecosystem dynamics, pollution impacts, and the responsible management of global and local resources. By revisiting these essential topics, students will develop a clearer perspective on social and civic responsibility regarding environmental issues. The session aims to bridge previous learning gaps through targeted review, concluding with a final exam to demonstrate mastery of the subject matter.
