WELCOME BACK TO WHAT WILL

SURELY BE A SPECTACULAR YEAR!

Follow us on social media and join our Google Classroom for LLC updates and to stay informed (links & class code above).

We believe in letting our students control their destiny in the LLC. Literally, using our Destiny Catalog, students use the self checkout station to check out their own books.

Our LLC is totally genrefied, both fiction and non-fiction. This makes it very easy to find a book or genre and to recommend one to a friend.

We are constantly adding new books to our collection and featuring them on display, on social media and in our "First Page Friday" segment of the SRMS Morning Show. Find out what's happening using the inks above.

Alan Gratz is one the most popular authors in our LLC. His stories educate, inspire, and foster empathy around important topics such as history, social justice, and cultural diversity.

Using Destiny, our students can search our catalog, review books, mark their favorites, and put them on hold from any device 24/7.

Next to "New Books" and "Nutmeg Nominees," we have rotating displays featuring books that appeal to our SRMS community. "Barbenheimer" has been very popular since the movies came out this summer.

@SRMSLLC TEAMS UP WITH THE RIDGEFIELD LIBRARY TO PROMOTE SUMMER READING!

Once again, Scotts Ridge Middle School and the Ridgefield Library are teaming up to promote our Summer Reading Program!

Summer is the ideal time to pick up a book of your choice and relax, and it’s a great way to prevent the “summer slide.”

This year’s theme, “All Together Now,” celebrates the diverse perspectives represented in literature today.

Check out our Book Suggestions, and  '2023 Summer Reading tab, including a list of the most popular and new titles recommended by SRMS students, staff and librarians.

We encourage parents to assist in the selection of appropriate and challenging selections.

Have a wonderful summer and happy reading!

"Proud to be an Ally."

For over 20 years, No Place for Hate, a student-led K-12 school climate improvement program, has helped build learning communities of inclusivity, respect and equity and SRMS is well on its way to becoming a No Place For Hate School!!

Tell us about a time when you were proud to be an ally.

The 2023 Book of the Year is

"A Good Girl's Guide To Murder" by Holly Jackson

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE PREVIOUS ROUNDS:

Elite 8:

A Night Divided by Jennifer Nielsen moves onto the Final 4. She will be visiting SRMS in May. Let's see if her book can move onto the Championship against A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. Historical Fiction vs. Mystery. Both genres are very popular.

No surprise that the Keeper of the Lost cities series by Sharon Messenger secures its place vs. Starfish by Lisa Fipps. To be fair, although Starfish is a new book, its popularity speaks for itself.

Sweet 16:

The most popular ADVENTURE book is "Charlie Thorne & the Last Equation" by Stuart Gibbs with 55.3% of the vote

The most popular HISTORICAL FICTION book is "A Night Divided" by Jennifer Nielsen with 53.9% of the vote. These 2 books now compete in the Elite 8.

The most popular MYSTERY book is "A Good Girl's Guide To Murder" by Holly Jackson with 60.5% of the vote

The most popular HORROR book is "The Girl In the Locked Room" by Mary Downing Hahn with 51.3% of the vote. These 2 choices now compete in the Elite 8.

The most popular FANTASY series is "Keeper of the Lost Cities" with 52.6% of the vote.

The most popular DYSTOPIAN/SCIENCE FICTION book is "Scythe" by Neal Shusterman with 59.2% of the vote.  These 2 books now compete in the Elite 8.

The most popular REALISTIC FICTION book is "Star Fish" by Lisa Fipps with 51.3% of the vote. This was a tie and needed a tie-breaker.

The most popular GRAPHIC NOVEL is "Truly Tyler" by Terri Libenson with 56.6% of the vote.  These 2 choices now compete in the Elite 8.
