Students come to the LLC to relax, read, or explore other things we have in the LLC during their Learning Labs! Our choices rotate every month!
We are always SO busy in the LLC...
It's been a busy September shopping for independent reading books, researching and creating with Social Studies classes and finishing our 6th and 7th grade Digital Citizenship Lessons. These classes explore media balance, digital footprint and privacy, cyberbullying and artificial intelligence.
Every October we celebrate Banned Book Week. As our students learn about censorship and the 1st Amendment, their comments and questions are always so interesting. It's a great way to boost circulation too. They want to know why a book might have been challenged, and are dismayed by favorites that have made the list (Harry Potter?! Charlotte's Web?!) over the years.
In our 10th annual Battle of the Books, aka Book Madness, we celebrated all the books that made it to a championship round or actually were selected to be SRMSLLC's Book of the Year since 2015!
Many of these matchups were close. In the end, Wonder beat Hunger Games by the slimmest margin!!
All of these books are available at SRMSLLC. Check one out today!
