Oh, The Places You'll Go: Integrating Google Earth and Maps in Your Classroom

What if we could travel with our students to the Serengeti, map out important WWII battles, or trace the steps of the Civil Rights Movement? What if our students could experience the Globe Theatre or discover the area/perimeter of Angkor Wat? With the aid of Google Maps and Earth, all of these excursions and activities are possible. In this session, we will learn how to build collaborative and informative maps and embark on a virtual field trip. Although the classroom applications are limitless, we will brainstorm together and discuss ways to create, integrate, and utilize such tools in a practical, standards-based manner.
In this session, attendees will learn how to provide collaborative writing opportunities for their students while integrating Technology with any of the subject areas. Attendees will learn the ins and outs of Book Creator and how to create fun, engaging writing assignments that their students can customize. Come learn how to let students showcase their writing in a way that will make teachers and students proud!
Let's Get Social! Using Marco Polo for Relationships and Reflection.

What if time and distance were no longer a barrier to reflection and relationship building when leading others? Teacher leaders, mentors, coaches, and admin benefit from establishing solid relationships and holding space for reflection with those they work with within a leadership capacity. Through their first year working together, these coaches have seen the benefits of using the app Marco Polo to establish and maintain their relationships and offer space for reflection in their practices. Each participant in the session will learn strategies for using Marco Polo, or other platforms, for asynchronous video conversation to remain connected to those that they lead, mentor, or even work alongside. To fully engage in the learning, participants are encouraged to download the Marco Polo app prior to the attending session.
Using Technology to Bridge Language Barriers

Both presenters believe that the more we know about each other, the better off the world will be. Through the use of technology, Amanda and Rocio have helped Latinx families communicate with schools and teachers; they have also used technology in creative ways to help families share their stories with others. This session will showcase many of the strategies these 2 teachers use!

Robot Storytime: How to get your students talking with Ozobots

COVID-19 has had a definite impact on how students communicate with each other and teachers. In this presentation, teachers will learn how to harness the power of coding and robotics to get students engaged and talking! Using the Ozobot, a small programmable robot, teachers will learn how they can be used to create engaging stories, lessons, and interactive activities. Participants will leave the session with a Ed Tech tool that can start the process of effective communication in the classroom!
