What is Dual/ Concurrent Enrollment?
Dual/ Concurrent enrollment for high school students is a program that allows high school students to simultaneously enroll in courses at both their high school and a local college. Students that participate in dual/ concurrent enrollment are beginning their official college record.
Dual/ Concurrent Enrollment provides students with the opportunity to earn both high school and college credits for the same course, effectively allowing them to get a head start on their college education while still in high school. It is important to note that not all credits are CSU/ UC transferable.
Unlike AP classes, students do not have to pass an exam to earn college credit. College admissions counselors may consider dual credit grades during the admissions process. However, not all colleges accept dual/ concurrent enrollment credits.
