This course is the study of the wood products industry. In this practical course, emphasis will be on craftsmanship, and safe and appropriate use of hand tools and power tools. Students will learn the fundamentals of quality joinery. Students will design and produce a product to be constructed in the areas of furniture and cabinetry. Research and problem solving skills will be studied considering economics, construction sequences, environmental impact, production control, and quality control. OSHA regulations and procedures will be taught and followed by all members of the class.
