The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) helps determine eligibility for financial aid for college or career school, including grants, work-study, and federal student loans. Some colleges and scholarship programs also use FAFSA information when awarding aid.
Seniors planning to continue their education should complete the FAFSA as early as possible and pay close attention to college and state priority deadlines. Students and required contributors should create their StudentAid.gov accounts in advance.
FAFSA applications for the 2027-2028 school year will open on October 1, 2026.
All students will need to complete the FAFSA for graduation requirements or complete the FAFSA Opt Out form
