This Week
We finished Well-Ordered Language Chapter 6: Direct Objects and took our quiz.
Well-Ordered Language is our analysis and diagramming curriculum for grammar. Students will become better writers as they will know the proper relationships between the words.
Students are now able to identify the four kinds of sentences, which are Declarative, Exclamatory, Interrogative, and Imperative, as well as, the subject and predicate. They are making progress with memorizing the helping verbs and identifying adverbs in a sentence.
This Week
We discussed the beliefs and practices of Ancient Greece, particularly, Athens and Sparta.
Ask your students about the different types of government we talked about: Monarchy, Aristocracy, tyranny, Oligarchy, and democracy.
We also discussed the role of education in creating good citizens in Athenian society. We focused on the role of logic, rhetoric and epic poems in creating these good citizens.
Next Week
We will review direct objects and start on subject pronouns.
We will have a quiz on Friday.
