Welcome parents and students!
My vision for this school year is to create creative ways students can express themselves through various forms of dance. Throughout this year students will foster creativity . Through dance, students learn teamwork, focus, and improvisational skills. Through dance this year my goal is to help to relieve students from any excess energy and reduce the risks of developing health problems.
On this page you will find some fun activities . Please feel free to contact me at (504) 452-0958 if you have any question or concerns. Please send pictures and video. !

How To Play:
Write down different parts of the body on separate chits of paper.
For example, you can write down elbows, hands, nose, knee, head, etc.
As the chit is called out, one child will paint the floor and everything around him with that part of the body, that is mentioned in the chit.
The imaginary paintbrush then shifts to the next body part that is called out in another chit.
For example, if the paintbrush is on the elbow, the child will paint around him with the elbow. If it comes to hands, the child will do dance moves using his hands.
How To Play:
Write the names of different animals on separate chits.
Call-out an animal name from a chit.
Children will have to make the noise of the animal and dance as they perceive the animal to be.
It is best not to interfere and teach them animal movements.
It is quite interesting to see the animal moves they come up with.
Make sure you have a variety of animals that children connect with such as snakes, birds, lion, rabbit etc.
How To Play:
Ask children to team up, i.e every child needs one partner, and give each pair some time to prepare.
Each pair comes up to the stage area and faces each other.
They will have to create a dance with claps, high fives, double fives, low fives and snapping.
This one can even be done without music if required and claps can be used for rhythm.

April 29- May 6
How to play:
The kids need to place a book over their head before the music is played.
As the music starts, they need to dance and balance the book without letting it fall on the ground.
They can catch the book if it’s falling and place it back over the head to continue dancing.
If they miss and the book hits the floor, the player is out.
How To Play:
Make a few chits and write the name of a pair on each chit.
Put the chits in a bowl and pick one randomly.
Call out the name of the couple on the chit and give them some time to interact and prepare a few dance steps for a chosen song.
Let them tap their feet together on the dance floor.
The pair that has the most fun dance will be the winner.
How To Play:
Line up the children in a row.
One child is given the ball first, He or she dances to the music with the ball and passes it on to the next child when the timer beeps.
The next kid will continue that dance and perform for a set time.
After passing the ball, the child will move out of the row to give other kids a chance. It encourages the participation of each child.
How To Play:
Get all the kids on to the dance floor and team them up in pairs.
Ask them to come up with dance moves that need them to clap or give a high-five.
Give them some time to discuss and prepare the steps.
You can either play music or use the claps for the rhythm.
The pair that comes up with the most creative dance moves gets rewarded.
