Social Security Number or I-551/I-94/Green Card (SSN Cards, Passports, and birth certificates are helpful but not required)
ID: Driver’s License, State ID, or Learner’s Permit for adults
Proof of income or “no income” for all adults
Proof of who lives in the home
Optional Deductions: Proof that the family is billed for rent or utilities
The family will receive mail when the benefits need to be renewed from the Department of Community Based Services (this is the official name for the food stamp/Medicaid office)
The renewals needs to be done by phone
Usually, renewals need to be done every 6 months
For those with expedited benefts, the renewal interview will need to take place in 30 days
