Above you will find the students creating their first bridge prototype from the design they sketched. We started this project with the book Iggy Peck, Architect written by Andrea Beatty. Iggy and his classmates run into trouble when a footbridge collapses after they crossed it to get to an island. To help Iggy, the students have designed a bridge that needs to span 12". They will test the strength of the bridges the next session and discuss ways to improve their designs.

Afterwards, students researched an aquatic animal they were interested studying how to create a habitat for their animal. After designing their habitat on paper, they are now working on building a diorama representing their aquatic animal in it's habitat.
Our next phase is to create a Google Slides presentation embedding pictures of our entire design process with interesting facts they identified.
