Arrive to class ontime with your book, pencil and three-ring binder or folder and paper. Complete your warmup in a timely manner. Follow the 3Rs.
IXL needs to be completed by the due date and time. If you finish an IXL skill after the one week due date, you need to email me to let me know that you would like me to grade it.
IXL is worth 5 points. Your smart score on the day it is due is your grade. For example, if you have a smart score of 84, your grade would be 84% (4.2/5)
A smart score of 100 by the due date and time earns youextra credit. EC will be awarded for getting to a smart score of 100 within the one week timeframe. Meaning, you finished the skill on the day it was due and earned a smart score of 100.
40/60 cutoff time - If you have spent 40 minutes on a skill AND have a SMART score of at least 60 and are struggling with the skill, you can email me and as long as you have shown effort within that 40 mins then I will give you full credit for the assignment (5/5)
Once an IXL skill due date has passed, you will need to search for the skill name to find it again as I update the teacher recommended skills to the current skills assigned.
Assignments are posted on Planbook weekly and updated daily when changes occur. Generally, assignments are due one to two days after they are assigned (dates are noted in planbook). Assignments not finished in class need to be finished on students' own time. There is NO penalty for late assignments, however assignments need to be completed within the three-week gate period and will not be accepted once the gate has passed. Assignment corrections: You can correct any daily assignments for up to 100% within that gate. I generally do not allow test/quiz retakes as all assignments can be corrected and are worth more of the students grade.
Skill Practice: daily and weekly
Formative Assessment: weekly/biweekly
Summative Assessment: end of chapter/MAST testing
There are two ways to earn extra credit:
1) Finish an assigned IXL skill to a Smart Score of 100 before the due date/time
2) Catch me in a math mistake during class
