This small group is offered to grades K-2 and 3-5. We focus on teaching students knowledge and tools to support executive functioning to stay focused, delay gratification, follow and remember tasks, exercise impulse control, and organize tasks, things, and time.
Greetings,
Below you will find an update on what your student learned in the Powered Up Self-Management Group session this week. The session was an introduction to the group. During this introduction, the students:
Learned about the purpose of the Powered Up Self-Management Group and how they will be learning and growing together.
Connected through games and questions to get to know one another.
Created Community Agreements that established group norms so that every student feels safe and supported in the group.
Learned about The Responsible Process that will help them grow their confidence and overcome challenges associated with being independent and responsible.
In our next group session, we are going to learn about:
How our brain works and how it can grow with effort and support.
How using Power Tools can help us complete our responsibilities.
