FEV Tutor is available for 3rd-12th grade students. It takes a creative approach to delivering students the 1:1 support they need to grow academically. Students work with their tutor using a 2-way live whiteboard. 2 types of support are offered: weekly homework support and 24/7 on demand support. EXCELL is a free mentoring and tutoring program for students, grades K-12, in the greater San Bernardino area. Improved test scores and grade reports demonstrate EXCELL is a transformational program for struggling students. We have particular focused on children in marginalized circumstances. EXCELL works to create a stronger community for all who are involved.
Footsteps2Brilliance® is a literacy tool that provides the foundation for proficiency needed for our early learners. Paid for by San Bernardino County, this tool is aimed at students TK-3rd grade. Up to 5 children can be registered to one parent. If students use this platform for just 15 minutes per day, they will show a seven month gain in literacy skills in as little as one month. San Bernardino County’s Vision is a Vision2Read, and this fits right in with that Vision. If children are reading at grade level by 3rd grade, they will be successful as they pursue their academic goals in the future.
GoPeer is a resource that allows families to connect with qualified college undergraduates who are available to tutor students. We integrate technology with a near-peer education model to provide jobs to college students, logistical help to parents, and academic mentorship to students.
The University is pleased to offer homework assistance free of charge. The program is offered Monday through Thursday and provides assistance in almost all subjects for kindergarten through 12th grade. We are currently full but if you want to add your child to our waiting list, complete this form.
Join the Smiley Public Library System to promote reading among children, ages 0-11, throughout San Bernardino County. Smiley Public Library offers literacy programs for adults, as well book check out. With your free library card, you can also access the free app Libby to borrow ebooks and audio books for all ages.
