Note from Jackie: Foster/McKinney Vento students CAN enroll without immunizations, but they’re given a 30 day window to get them. After 30 days, the student can no longer come to school.
Now, the school should work with the families. The school nurse or health clerk should provide families with clinics where the kids can get free immunizations. If the school is no longer allowing the student to come to school, they should provide independent study etc. The school should do everything possible to keep the student in school.
Referrals for Medical, Dental, glasses, or other health issue (see quick reference, below)
Academic Assistance: Assist with getting extra help from intervention teacher, etc.
