Our Unit's Drone Team is our most technological team, utilizing advanced drone technology to dive into the specifics of flight. The team's primary focus is on learning advanced knowledge of aviation principles, refining piloting skills, and mastering safety protocols, complemented by the pursuit of various certifications. The Drones Team can be seen at multiple JROTC events, utilizing photography to take record of what is occuring. The Drones Team Commander & Supervisor hosts a meeting every Wednesday, where anybody can join us and talk about how drones work and even get a chance to fly our drones. Our team also participates in competitions every once in a while, where we compete regarding multiple factors such as races and durability tests.

These images below are a visual representation of the South Campus of Redlands High School. It was done by CA-20005's Drones Team, flying a DJI Mavic 2 over South Campus modelling on October 21st, 2024. The two images below can be moved around; and the one on the right can be viewed from three dimensions. The full image on the left is a constructed image of multiple other images taken by said Mavic 2 flying above South Campus. On the right is a point cloud constructed also by the multiple images taken by the drone. The depth of the model is perceived by the multiple images graphed together using the program Pix 4D. It uses contextual clues such as shadows, height, and depth to recognize the exact height of the multiple buildings and even trees displayed in South Campus.
